Parade Volunteers
About our Parade Volunteers
Volunteers are the fuel that drives the Cheyenne Frontier Days Engine
Volunteers are the fuel that drives the CFD engine. Their ranks can swell to over 3,000 during show, but 2,000+ volunteers are committed to nine support committees from rodeo, parades, Indians, and night shows, to military, concessions, public relations, operations and grounds. Volunteers donate their time year-round to projects to keep the infrastructure and grounds ready for show, as well as keeping the area secure, and of course running the actual show operations from behind the chutes to carriages rolling in the parades and everything in between. Volunteers volunteer because in the words of Bill Dubois, “It’s the Cheyenne thing to do…” Support for these hardworking souls has been solidified in two additional but completely separate from the CFD Foundation, to include the Volunteer Crisis Fund and the Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Volunteer Crisis Fund helps CFD volunteers when bad things happen to good people, from home fires to unexpected medical bills or other life altering events, the VCF is there to help out when times get tough for a volunteer in crisis. Volunteers and their families are also supported via the Memorial Scholarship Fund for advanced degrees and helping those pursuing advanced degrees whether they are the volunteer or their kids.
CFD loves, appreciates, and supports those who give their heart and soul to this event. This next video shows well the heart and soul of our volunteers, no matter where they volunteer on the Park.
