How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls Statue
Unveiling the “How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls” statue
“How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls” Bronze
On July 28, 2024 CFD kicked off “Year of the Cowgirl” unveiling a new bronze on Frontier Park highlighting the spirit and strength of Western women throughout history. Their stories continue to shape the stories of women today both in the arena and out in the world.
Created by Wyoming artist D. Michael Thomas, the “How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls” memorial bronze commemorates the impact women have had not only here in Wyoming, the first state to give women the right to vote, but authentic, unapologetic cowgirls everywhere. Whether training horses, ranching, staying home and wrangling babes, or working in an office wrangling clients, whatever brand of cowgirl, they continue to make history daily in their authentic, unapologetic ‘getting it done’ every day no matter the hurdles.
Today, the statue stands proudly on the West side of Frontier Park, facing Hynds Boulevard.
