Dinneen Carriage Barn

The story behind the barn

Home to 160+ historic wagons and carriages

Each historic carriage, wagon, or vehicle in the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ collection has been painstakingly restored by our legendary team of Wagon Doctors, sometimes from only pieces of an existing frame.

In 2021, as part of the “365 to 125” campaign, the Carriage Barn formerly known as “Barn 15” underwent a renovation of its own—and became a protective haven to house CFD’s world-class, irreplaceable, multi-million dollar carriage and wagon collection.

Made possible by the generosity of numerous “365 to 125” campaign donors and a grant from the Hughes Charitable Foundation, the renovated Carriage Barn today protects more than 160 historic vehicles and preserves the stories they tell about transportation in the Old West.

Upon completion, the Carriage Barn was renamed to honor Marrietta Dinneen—a longtime CFD volunteer who dedicated many years to caring for the carriages, soliciting funds to restore carriages to their original condition, researching the carriages’ significance to this area of the country, and getting them ready to roll in the Grand Parades every year.
